The aluminum industry is a leader in Kentucky and Kentucky is a worldwide leader in the aluminum industry.

The aluminum industry in Kentucky is a critical piece of the industrial landscape.

Stabilizing our existing industries and creating opportunities for growth and expansion in aluminum are key to Kentucky’s short- and long-term economic future.

Kentucky aluminum contributes an estimated $1.48 billion annually to Kentucky’s economy. The industry employs almost 15,000 people and generates about $100 million in state and local tax revenue each year.

Kentucky has a strong presence in both the primary and fabricated aluminum sectors and is the #1 state measured by the value of aluminum shipments worldwide. Kentucky companies ship almost $4.5 billion of primary aluminum products every year.

Kentucky’s close proximity to 2/3 of the US population and to the automobile industry coupled with our low utility rates, available workforce, and access to six interstate highways have helped make Kentucky an ideal location for the production and distribution of aluminum products.

We have a great story to tell. I invite you to join the individuals, associations and companies dedicated to promoting the aluminum industry in Kentucky.
